Engineering that accounts for the site
M&Z Design Consulting delivers civil engineering for land development, industrial facilities, transportation infrastructure and municipal projects throughout Western Canada. We work with developers, contractors, municipalities and other engineering firms, from feasibility through IFC drawings and construction support.
Our approach is not complicated. Establish the constraints that genuinely bound the design before committing to a concept. Steer the design toward the result that costs least to build, within those constraints. Check the design surface itself rather than trusting the intent behind it. And say plainly what every number depends on.
That is a less exciting description than most engineering firms give, but it is what separates a project that is built roughly as drawn from one that accumulates change orders.

How we work
Constructability first
A design that cannot be built efficiently is not finished. We design against real construction tolerance — which is why we do not put paved surfaces at the minimum practical gradient and call it drained.
State the basis
Every quantity we issue carries its assumptions: strip depth, shrinkage factor, what is included and excluded, what datum. A number without its basis is not something anyone can rely on.
Honest assessments
If a constraint makes something more expensive than you were told, you hear it from us during design, not from the contractor at tender.
Direct engineer access
You work with the engineer doing the design. Projects are not handed to junior staff after the pitch.

M&Z is built around experienced civil engineering professionals with hands-on project records across industrial, municipal, commercial and infrastructure work in Western Canada. Every project is managed with direct engineer involvement.

Named engineers with registration numbers are the strongest credibility signal a consulting firm has. A municipal reviewer or a developer checking you out will look for them, and right now there is nothing here for them to find.
